Habitat Mapping and Data Collection
NRM staff have extensive experience using geographical information systems (GIS) for all aspects of natural resource management, including mapping biological features, identifying opportunities and constraints, and calculating impact areas. We use a sub-meter accuracy global positioning system (GPS) unit as well as aerial photography to collect data and accurately calculate mitigation impact areas, exact species locations, and/or location(s) of sensitive resources requiring protection. Our Staff have over 6 years of experience mapping and classifying habitats throughout the San Francisco Bay Area using a variety of classification systems. continue >>
